Pulverising Smash vs. Crushing Blow
I've been using [skill=text]Crushing Blow[/skill] in my PvE hammer build for quite a long time now, but with the advent of GW:EN, Pulverising Smash has come to my attention.
My big spike combo has traditionally been [skill=text]Backbreaker[/skill] > [skill=text]Crushing Blow[/skill] > [skill=text]Belly Smash[/skill].
The idea of replacing an energy based deep wound with an adrenaline based one is quite appealing, and weakness on top is an added bonus.
But from use, there's a downside:
If you hit an opponent who isn't knocked down, you just get a "fail", no damage at all. Crushing Blow, as well as inflicting a deep wound on a knocked down opponent, also inflicts additional damage, whether your opponent is knocked down or not.
Anybody else got a take on the skill?
I'm thinking it might best be used with [skill=text]Counter Blow[/skill] for quick application of deep wounds to attacking targets.
